A lot of late night comedians get a lot of mileage over making jokes about marriage, but marriage can be a wonderful adventure when you are sharing it with the one you love. A 25 year wedding anniversary gift can be an opportunity to celebrate the love and adventures that the couple has shared over the years.

For the 25 year wedding anniversary gift it is traditional to buy something made of sterling silver. This can be some sort of jewelry or a picture frame, etc.

Remember if you are buying a gift for a couple, as opposed to buying for your own spouse, that you want to buy a gift that will appeal to both of them, not just one of them.

That can sometimes provide a challenge since often we are closer with one of the couple than the other. If you are golfing buddies with the husband, for example, it will be much easier for you to know what types of things he would like than what his wife would like.

If you are buying for your spouse, why not make it truly memorable? The above idea with the champagne and silver goblets could just the be the beginning to a romantic weekend away for just the two of you.

You might want to renew your vows or take a second honeymoon. You could either revisit where you went the first time, or go someplace the two of you have always talked about going. What a great way to celebrate your life together then to go to a place that you have both always wanted to go. It's just one more adventure in your life together.

I personally don't think people should stress over buying gifts for anniversaries. This is a time to celebrate and as long as you consider the couple and their likes and dislikes you can't go wrong. Something as simple as a silver picture frame with an old picture in it can bring a lot of joy.

Whether you are buying a 25 year wedding anniversary gift for some friends, relatives or your own spouse, there are so many possibilities out there. Just take a little time and think about the couple who are celebrating. Consider what they like and the rest should fall into place.
